The organisers of the Spring Festival in Blackpool have informed 4BR that after receiving several enquiries concerning percussion equipment for the contest, the decision has been made to clarify what timpani will be available on the day in each of the three sections.

Payne provision

The instruments will be provided by Ray Payne, who will be on hand as usual to provide help and advice to performers.

A spokesperson told 4BR: “The provision of percussion at is taken very seriously by the contest organisers, and we believe that in Ray Payne we are provided with percussion equipment and advice that is second to none. As always we are very grateful for the service and advice that he provides.”
