The St Dennis Band has announced that they have secured the services of professional conductor Darren Hawken for a further 12 month period.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Darren has enjoyed working with the band over the last year and is looking forward to the challenges of the year ahead. Leonard Adams will also continue to be a valuable member of the band's conducting team, working with us regularly in preparation for upcoming contests."

Summer role

The band also announced that Colin Toghill will fulfil the conducting role during the band’s busy summer engagements and recently made his debut at the Olympic Torch Relay Concert in St Stephen.

The band is now preparing for the upcoming West of England Bandsmen's Festival at Bugle.
