Old Silkstone announce march details

The popular Old Silkstone March & Hymn Contest takes place this July — so get your band booked in!

The Old Silkstone Band has announced that their popular 2012 Annual March & Hymn Contest will take place this year on 14th July.

Entries are still available for the contest which commences at 3.30pm and is open to all grades of bands.

Two venues

Each competitor will be required to perform an own choice a hymn followed by a march at two venues: The first performance will be at the Red Lion public house car park followed by a short street march past the Ring O’Bells public house where deportment will be judged.

The second performance of the same hymn and march takes place at Silkstone Lodge.

The adjudicators are Simon Kerwin and Graham O’Connor, whilst the prize fund is a very generous £1500.
