The Snowdown Band in Kent has been celebrating the news that their Eb tuba player Stanley Partner BEM has been awarded the MBE in the recent Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Fully deserved

Publicity Officer Mike Sole told 4BR: "The fully deserved award is for Stan’s magnificent voluntary work. Stan has been a member of the band for many years making a weekly 80 mile round trip to attend rehearsals. We are all very proud of him and his superb work in the community."
