Death of Peter Foden

Foden's announce death of family link to founder.

The Foden’s Band has announced the death of Peter Foden at the age of 82.

Grand father

It was Peter’s grandfather, Edwin Foden, who effectively created the band that carried the family name at the beginning of the twentieth century, passing on its legacy to his sons, Billy and Edwin Richard, Peter’s father. In turn Peter carried that support forward.

Wonderful support

Band spokesperson Andy Rolfe told 4BR: "Never a musician, he nevertheless gave wonderful support to the band, never more than when, during his period as President, he led the Centenary Committee which oversaw such a memorable year of celebrations throughout 2000."

Everyone at Foden’s Band would like to acknowledge the work, support and generosity which Peter Foden has extended to it over so many yearsFoden's Band

Finale

He added: "To coincide with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee last month, the band gave a concert in his honour at the care home where Peter had recently taken up residence. It was a timely finale to his association with Foden’s Band.

Everyone at Foden’s Band would like to acknowledge the work, support and generosity which Peter Foden has extended to it over so many years."
