Mealor to be keynote speaker at Cardiff Conference

Royal Wedding composer Paul Mealor will be the keynote speaker at the forthcoming 2012 Making Music Conference, which is due to take place at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff in September.

Works

The former Point of Ayr euphonium player wrote, ‘Ubi Caritas’ for the worldwide royal event, as well as, ‘Wherever You Are’, which sung by the Military Wives Choir became the Christmas Number 1.

Paul’s work will also feature in the conference concert, which will see the premiere of his ‘Jubilate! Jubilee!’, commissioned by Making Music in honour of the Diamond Jubilee.

Other works in the programme include Edward Gregson’s ‘An Age of Kings’ and the premiere of a new piece by Duncan MacLeod, written for Llandaff Cathedral Choral Society as part of Making Music’s Adopt a Composer Scheme.
