Tuba star to lead the City of Discovery Band's masterclass and workshop day this weekend.

City of Discovery

The City of Discovery Band is getting ready to hold a day of masterclasses and workshops in Dundee on Saturday 18th August.

Specialist

The event will bring together two full bands (Arbroath Instrumental and City of Discovery Brass) along with Perthshire Junior Brass (and players from their senior bands), and will see a day of specialist brass workshops and masterclasses open to all players within Tayside, culminating in an evening concert.

Led by tuba star Les Neish, the event is aimed at improving the skill sets of players from local bands and to encourage collaboration and youth involvement by raising the profile of the numerous existing bands throughout the region.

A large number of students receiving brass tuition in Dundee have been invited to come and join us as well as a number of MP's, MSP's and Councillors too, to see just what brass bands have to offer the communityCity of Discovery Band

She added: "A large number of students receiving brass tuition in Dundee have been invited to come and join us as well as a number of MP's, MSP's and Councillors too, to see just what brass bands have to offer the community."
