The Pemberton Old Wigan DW Band has announced the signing of two new players in Kirsten Broadhurst on flugel and Jordan Logan on euphonium.

Flugel

Kirsten is a former principal cornet of Besses Boys Band and a member of the National Youth Band of Great Britain, and more recently played with Timperly and latterly with Wingates on flugel.

Euphonium

Meanwhile, Jordan's background started in the Salvation Army playing for Stowmarkets Corps Young Peoples Band and the Anglia Youth Band. He has also taken part in the Territorial Youth Band course for the last 5 years on euphonium.

More recently he played for Ipswich & Norwich Co-op Band and is now studying a BMus in performance at the RNCM in Manchester. Jordan joins fellow student Nick Birch on euphonium.

Welcome and thanks

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "We would like to welcome them both to the band and look forward to working together."

On a sad note the band however, the band said goodbye to solo horn, Lynne Campbell after a highly committed two and half years of excellence as a player.

The spokesperson added: "We would like to wish her all the best for the future and thank her for all her hard work."
