Brass at the Guild ready for action

The popular Brass at the Guild Hall Contest is ready for action — and looking forward to a great day of contesting action.

Guild Hall Preston

The popular Brass at the Guild Hall Championship will be taking place in Preston’s Guild Hall complex on Sunday 3rd February.

Kick off

Run by Lancashire Contests, the Fourth Section kicks off a full day of banding action in the Guild Hall itself on the stroke of 10.30am, whilst the Third Section contenders take to the stage of the Charter Theatre at 11.00am.

Second Section bands will battle for the honours straight after the end of the Third Section in the Charter Theatre starting at 1.00pm, whilst the First Section contenders follow on the Fourth Section at the Guild Hall around 12.30pm.

Rounded off

The day is rounded off by the Championship Section contest which takes place in the main Guild Hall starting at 3.30pm.

The adjudicators for the day are Derek M Broadbent, Gordon Higginbottom, Mike Kilroy and Mark Wilkinson.

Great music

There is plenty of great music to enjoy as bands tackle either the Butlins Mineworkers Championship set works or the forthcoming Area test pieces.

Admission is just £7.00 and £5.00 for concessions.
