Butlins Champion Boarshurst Silver Band will be opening its doors once again to give as many people as possible the opportunity to hear the quintet of set works that will test bands at the North West Regional contest in Blackpool in March.

Time and date

The event has been arranged by MD David Ashworth and will take place on Sunday March 3rd at the Boarshurst Band Club, Greenbridge Lane, Greenfield. OL3 7EU, starting at 7.30pm.

Fourth Section Greenfield Band will perform Eric Ball’s, 'Devon Fantasy', followed by Boarshurst Silver Band with the Third Section work, 'Hollywood' by Goff Richards.

The Mossley Band will tackle the Second Section set test 'The Plantagenets' by Edward Gregson, followed by Wardle Anderson Band with the First Section set work, 'Brass Triumphant' by Gareth Wood.

Rounded off

The evening will be rounded off by Milnrow Band presenting the Championship Section set work, Philip Sparke’s, 'Harmony Music'.

Each band will play a warm up piece prior to playing their respective Test Piece.

Everyone is welcome and the entrance fee is £3.00 per person, with the added option of a soothing drink at the bar if you want one!4BR
