2013 Tameside Whit Friday details announced

Tameside Council has released all their details for this year's Whit Friday contests in a couple of weeks time.

The details for this year's Tameside Whit Friday march contests which take place on 24th May have been released by Tameside Council.

Council and private sponsorship

Tameside Council is delighted to announce once again that funding has been received from 103.6FM Tameside Radio and BMS Motorist Superstore.

The organisers have reminded the bands to visit the website which gives bands and spectactors all the information needed for Whit Friday.

Paid for your labour

In what promises to be a great night in Tameside, one of the oldest Whit Friday contests on the entire circuit in Stalybridge is offering a first prize of £1,000 at it's Labour Club venue.

Tameside Council is also delighted to announce that the prize money for winning the Central & Local prizes remains the same as last year.

Plan ahead

Tameside Council has informed 4BR that they are working hard to ensure that roadworks are kept to a minimum on what is the start of a Bank Holiday weekend. The advice to the bands however is plan ahead of the day itself.

Area Open Champions: £2,500, 2nd: £1,000, 3rd: £750
Local Area Champion: £750, 2nd: £600, 3rd: £400
