There was plenty of handy celebratory beer on hand to help Foresters Brass 2000 after they won the inaugural Wood Farm Brewery Entertainment Contest recently.

Honours

Competing against local rivals, the band who are promoted to the Championship Section in 2014, claimed the first prize with a programme that started with ‘Where Eagles Sing’ before moving to ‘Londonderry Air’, played by ‘Best Soloist’ winner Steve March, ‘Anyone Can Whistle’, ‘Cry Me A River’ and ‘Their Off’ to take the honours.

Other bands taking part were Burbage Silver, Ratby Mid Co-operative, Kibworth, Coventry Festival, Croft Silver, Enderby, Enderby Concert and Melton.

Visitors

Situated in the lovely rural surroundings of the Leicestershire & Warwickshire border, the first band took to the stage at 11.00am with lots of visitors and supporters enjoying the entertainment provided all the way through to the pre-results performance from the Fine Arts Brass Ensemble.
