Advert: Arcomis International Brass Event

Arcomis Brass Event releases special passes, following success of first fringe event at the famous Hay Festival.

Arcomins at Hay Festival

The opening musical notes of the Arcomis International Brass Event rang out recently as the first of its programme of fringe events got underway at the famous Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts.

Free performances

The Arcomis Brass Quintet, made up of musicians from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama gave a series of free performances at the Hay Festival Book Shop, where a number of distinguished guests, including illustrator Quentin Blake, HRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were in attendance.

Performing between the event’s programme for schools, the quintet presented a diverse range of music which engaged large groups of children in hands-on music making throughout the day.

No contemporary myth

Dispelling the myth surrounding the accessibility of contemporary music, the quintet performed works from Wiltold Lutoslawski, film composer Michael Kamen and Bramwell Tovey.

Pushing the boundaries further they also included brand new music by award winning Welsh composers Rhian Samuel and Andrew Wilson-Dixon.

Special passes

To celebrate the success of the event, The Brass Event has launched two special passes, available alongside their already released ‘Full Event Premium Pass’.

The special ‘Day Pass’ grants access to all performances and behind-the-scenes sessions on one given day for £45.00 on Friday, £75.00 on Saturday and £50.00 on Sunday.
