Brass in Concert draw announced

12 top class domestic rivals have been drawn out of the hat for Brass in Concert later this year.

The Sagee

The draw has been announced for the 37th Brass in Concert Championships, which will take place at The Sage Gateshead on 17th November.

Success

Following the success of its new format last year, the event has attracted perhaps its strongest ranked field of domestic rivals – headed by reigning champion Cory.

2012 ‘Double’ champion Foden’s and West of England Area champion Flowers return, whilst Co-operative Funeralcare and Reg Vardy drop out – the latter for the first time in the event’s history.

Adjudication

The innovative adjudication process, which gained widespread approval from the competitors and audience, will see Paul Cosh and Stephen Bulla mark the Quality of Performance, with Mike Kilroy in charge of Programme Content. Jo Wheeler will mark the Entertainment & Presentation element.

The separate awards for soloists will once again come under the expert eye of tuba virtuoso Les Neish.
