North of England Area date confirmed

The date for the 2014 North of England Area Championships have been confirmed

The North of England Regional Committee has announced that the North of England Regional Championship will be held in The Dolphin Centre, Darlington, on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of March 2014.

Regional Secretary Tony Griffiths told 4BR: "Due to unavoidable issues, we could not confirm the date of the contest any earlier. All regional bands should have now been notified regarding the date, which is during the usual third weekend of March."

His also revealed that a new regional website will be online in the next few weeks, with all the information everyone will need regarding the contest and that a comprehensive review of all aspects of the contest and its administration will also take place.

Fit for purpose

Tony added: "This will ensure that we continue to provide a vibrant and professional event fit for purpose. We welcome any views that bands may have, that are constructive and we welcome volunteers for the 2014 Championships.

These volunteers are a vital part of the weekend and the future of the event."
