4BR has been informed that due to extensive refurbishment that will take place at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, a new venue will have to be found for the hosting of the 2014 National Youth Championships.

New venue

It is understood that the Youth Sub-Committee of organisers Brass Bands England have been informed by the RNCM of the building work, and will now seek a replacement venue for the immensely popular event with immediate effect.

Held in April this year, the four sections attracted 42 bands and hundreds of players and supporters.

Refurbishment

A BBE spokesperson informed 4BR: "The Royal Northern College of Music has stated that a refurbishment of the Concert Hall is to go ahead.

This means that the 2014 National Youth Championship will not take place at the RNCM."
