White goes from black to purple

Horn star Sheona White has moved from Black Dyke to Brighouse & Rastrick.

Following her resignation from English National champion Black Dyke earlier this week, 4BR has been informed that tenor horn virtuoso Sheona White has accepted the position of solo horn with Brighouse & Rastrick.

Sheona told 4BR: "I have enjoyed the experience of performing with Black Dyke and wish the players every success in the future.

I’m delighted to accept the invitation to join Brighouse & Rastrick as solo horn and I’m looking forward to a musically fulfilling future."

Although left with n important solo seat to fill, Black Dyke Director of Music Dr Nicholas Childs thanked Sheona for her time with the band.

"Black Dyke is sad that Sheona has decided to resign from the band. She has been a fine player but now feels the time is right for her to finish. We wish her well."
