Childs Summer break

Dr Robert Childs has announced that he has ended his connection with the Swansea based International Brass Band Summer School.

After 10 years of involvement at the Swansea based International Brass Band Summer School (IBBSS), Dr Robert Childs has decided end his connection with the course.

Successful

Talking to 4BR Dr Childs said: "I ran the course with Phil Morris and Niki Bland from 2002 – 2006 and we had some great times together.

From 2007 — 2012 I’ve shared the musical responsibilities with my brother Nick and the course has grown into a very successful and highly enjoyable week of great music making for delegates from all over the world."

Commitments

However, with his ongoing commitments as Chairman of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain there have been several clashes of dates between the IBBSS and the National Youth Band Summer Course which has led to him making the decision.

Bob concluded: "I wish the International Brass Band Summer School and Nick all the best in the future."
