Geneva to support new brass academy

A new brass academy in Wells in Somerset gains support from leading instrument manufacturer.

A new brass academy will be set up in Somerset next month with the launch of an initiative in Wells.

Opportunity

Sponsored by Geneva Instruments it aims to provide an ideal opportunity for enthusiasts in the region to enhance their skills and perform in concerts.

Participants need to be of Grade 4 standard and above and the Academy will provide them with invaluable opportunities to perform at a higher technical and musical level, explore the repertoire of brass bands and regularly perform in concerts and national competitions.

Fawbert lead

The group will be led by the professional musician and Professor at the Royal College of Music, Andy Fawbert.

Andy has recorded with some of the world's leading artists, including Barbara Streisand, The Who and Pink Floyd to name just a few, and is looking forward to teaching a new generation of top class performers.

Time and place

The Brass Band Academy will run monthly on Sunday afternoons from 2.00 until 4.00pm, whilst the launch will sponsored by Geneva Instruments who will give a short presentation and host a trade stand with a 10% discount on instruments.
