Euphonium player Charley Brighton was the guest soloist at the recent 'Into Africa' concert at Bristol Easton Salvation Army, which helped raise over £4,500 for the next project organised by the Kenya Trust.

The South Western Divisional Fellowship Band with Bandmaster Norman Cassells was joined by Charley and the local Redland High School and Chamber Choirs.

Classic euphoniums

Charley performed two traditional Salvation Army solos, 'Travelling Along' and 'We'll All Shout Hallelujah', using a different classic Euphonium for each of the sections in the latter – from a modern euphonium to an 1891 Highams 5 valve vintage model.
