Derwent Brass has announced the appointment of Chris Fower as their new bass trombone player.

Experience

A graduate in jazz from the City of Leeds College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London he was a member of the European Community Youth Orchestra as well as playing with Grimethorpe, the Shirley Bassey Orchestra and in various professional ensembles.

He has held the position of Executive Manager at British Trombone Society and various lead roles within instrumental education and instrument development with Edwards Instruments.

He now leads on creativity and education across the Warwick Music Group, owners and manufacturers of the innovative pBone brand4BR

Originally a native of Rotherham, he now lives just a few miles from the Derwent bandroom in Holloway.
