Kennedy signs up for Butlins

Vicki Kennedy will be signing up to join her Dad on the cornet section of Yorkshire Champion Carlton Main Frickley.

Carlton Main Frickley

Carlton Main Frickley Band has announced the signing of Vicki Kennedy on repiano cornet ahead of their build up to the Butlins Mineworkers Festival in Skegness in January.

Yorkshire champion

Vicki had been playing with the Yorkshire champion on the front row since September, whilst her father Stewart was recovering from ill health, but with Stewart fully fit and back playing, Vicki has also taken the opportunity to commit to the band full time.

Boost

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Everyone at Carlton Main is delighted to have Stewart back to full health and playing again.

It’s also a great boost that Vicki has agreed to join permanently, filling the seat left following Hannah Robson's decision to take a step back from top flight banding."

Great part

They added: "Hannah is in her final year at the Royal Northern College of Music and needs more time to focus on her studies.

She was a great part of the team which enjoyed such success in 2013 and we certainly hope that Hannah won't be a stranger to the band and wish her all the best with her college work and exams."
