Cupid takes aim at Drighlington

Drighlington provides the musical backdrop to a twang from Cupid's arrow at a recent concert.

Proposal

There was an added touch of Christmas romance in the air at a recent Drighlington Band concert amid the magnificent setting of Bramham House in West Yorkshire.

Musical cupid

The band played the part of a musical cupid after they received a request from loyal supporter Chris Tonge to see if he could propose to his girlfriend Lisa Brown during their concert performance.

The couple have been together for five years and are regular Drighlington concert goers, so Chris summoned up the courage and ‘popped the question’, by going down on one knee just before the band launched into its final item!

Much to everyone’s relief, Lisa accepted, although she was initially more concerned that the pair had disturbed the enjoyment of the concert goers!4BR

Accepted

Much to everyone’s relief, Lisa accepted, although she was initially more concerned that the pair had disturbed the enjoyment of the concert goers!

However, MD Jim Davies soon put their minds at rest and amid cheers the happy couple ended what they called, ‘a magical day’ on the highest note possible.
