Ireland adds new and old to ranks

Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band has boosted the ranks with new and returning players ahead of their contest season.

Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band has announced a host of new and old signings ready for their assault on the Second Section Midlands Regional Championship in Bedworth in March.

Experienced

The experienced Adrian Fletcher comes in on principal cornet and will be joined by Lucy Clipsom and Annetta Ives.

Rob Smith comes in on horn whilst Simon Smith joins on Eb Bass and Simon Whyatt moving on to Bb Bass. Catherine Rogers joins the percussion team.

Commitment

Commenting on the new arrivals MD Ian Knapton told 4BR: "These new signings really show our commitment to keep progressing as we have done in the last few years.

The players that have left before Christmas gave us great commitment over their time and we would like to thank them for that."

Debuts

He added: "However, the band move on and we haven’t wasted our time in finding the right replacements."

All the players will be making their first public appearance with the band at the North East Midlands Contest on Sunday 23rd February.
