New Band Manager for Thoresby

Peter Pimperton, a familiar figure within the Midlands banding scene has become Band Manager at Thoresby Colliery.

Thoresby Colliery has confirmed to 4BR that Peter Pimperton has been appointed as its new Band Manager.

Wealth of experience

Peter has been involved with brass bands for thirty five years but never as a player. Among his many administrative roles held, he was involved with the North East Midlands Brass Band Association and was the Registrar for the Butlins Mineworkers Contest where he remained until his departure in 2011.

A spokesperson told 4BR: “Peter has many friends past and present within the Thoresby Band organisation and is looking forward to working with the organisation once again.”

Bevan steps aside

Peter replaces Andrew Bevan who steps down from the role due to work commitments but remains with the band as a playing member. The band would like to thank Andrew for all his hard work over the years and issue a very warm welcome to Peter.
