Hallas departure at Thurcroft

The partnership between Thurcroft Welfare and MD Garry Hallas has come to a reluctant end.

Garry Hallas

Thurcroft Welfare Band has announced that their successful and enjoyable partnership with MD Garry Hallas has come to an end.

Good terms

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We are parting company on very good terms. Garry, who also conducts Emley, has been with the band for a very happy eighteen months. He now feels that he needs to reduce his conducting commitment in order to allow him to pursue other musical avenues.

The band would like to thank Garry for all he has done over the past year and a half. Garry’s shoes will be very hard to fill and the band is very sorry to lose him."

Whoever is lucky enough to follow me into the bandroom will find a player on every seat, a supportive committee and a wonderful atmosphere in which to make musicGarry Hallas

Fantastic people

Garry added: "I’ve had a great time working with fantastic people at Thurcroft.

Whoever is lucky enough to follow me into the bandroom will find a player on every seat, a supportive committee and a wonderful atmosphere in which to make music."
