Cory MD Philip Harper and Reid Gilje, one of Norway's most respected brass band conductors, will adjudicate at the forthcoming Aalborg Music Festival.

The event will be held just after the European Championships on the weekend of the 9th & 10th May, and will also see Philip lead a conducting seminar before the main contest for young Danish conductors.

Record

A record 15 bands will be attending the seventh running of the event, including two debutantes in Frederiksberg Brass Band and Aalborg Garden Band.

The set test piece in the Section A event will Morten Lauridsen's 'O Magnum Mysterium', whilst the festival board have chosen to honour Salvationist Erik Silfverberg who died in November 2013, with his arrangement of 'Stand up for Jesus' in the Section B contest.

This years Gala Concert will be played by the Århus Band.
