New Hall for Skelmanthorpe

Martin Hall has been appointed the new MD at Skelmanthorpe Band.

Martin Hall

The Skelmanthorpe Band has announced the appointment of Martin Hall as their new Musical Director.

Success

Martin led the band to immediate success in February at the Brass at the Guild Contest, and followed it by directing solid performances at both the Regional Championships in Bradford and Spring Festival at Blackpool.

Proud

Martin told 4BR: "The people at Skelmanthorpe are terrific. I'm more than happy to be part of this team, and leading the band out at St George's Hall was, in particular a very proud moment for me."

He continued: "Here we have a good blend of experience and youth, and the set-up of the whole Skelmanthorpe organisation really is something to admire."

Player boost

Meanwhile, the band also welcomes rising percussion star Ben Scholes, and also the return of Paul Thewlis on second trombone.
