A Welsh French connection for Harrogate

A new Vice President will help lead Harrogate march into France later this year...

Gareth Gibbs

The Harrogate Band has appointed Gareth Gibbs to the new post of Vice President.

Marching

Gareth has been advising the band over a number of years on deportment and marching, and has been instrumental in improving the way the band has performed at the Whit Friday and other marching competitions, as well as the popular Durham Miners’ Gala.

Welsh guard

A former member of the Welsh Guards, Gareth is a successful property consultant and passionate rugby union fan.

He is well known in the Harrogate business community and will take an active part in the band’s forthcoming tour to Harrogate’s twin town of Luchon in France.

Respect

Bandmaster Ed Dennis, Bandmaster told 4BR: "Gareth’s an inspiration and has won the respect of all our players. He’s improved the way we perform and people now notice how impressive we look when marching.

We created this new post especially for him: it’s in recognition for his services to the band and to cement a great friendship."
