New work sought to commemorate Anzac Day

Composers are asked to write new works to commemorate Anzac Day.

Canning City

Canning City Band from the suburbs off Perth in Western Australia is to commission a new work to recognise the Centenary of Anzac Day in 2015.

These may include such conflicts as the Boer War, Vietnam, Gallipoli, as well as more modern battles such as Timor, the Gulf and Afghanistan.

Theme

The use of classic Australian and New Zealand wartime songs, variations in style, an overarching theme or story based on that of the ANZAC and the inclusion of traditional ANZAC marches and hymn tunes are part of the desired criteria.
