New principal at Rolls Royce

Helen Kirby has been appointed as the new principal cornet of Rolls Royce Derby Band.

The Rolls Royce Derby Band has announced the signing of Helen Kirby as their new principal cornet.

Excited

Helen told 4BR: "I’m excited for the challenges that lie ahead, happy to be playing with some old friends and looking to making some new friends along the way."

MD Graham Cardwell added: "Helen brings with her a wealth of experience and has settled straight into the band."

Upgrades

Helen takes over from Sam Atherton who will be moving to pastures new in the South of England with the thanks and best wishes of the band for her own tremendous contribution following her on the move.

The band has also announced a number of recent new additions whilst behind the scenes there has been a significant upgrade of the band’s website by principal horn player Jo Wright.
