Open Registry

Following the recent announcement of the set works to be used at the 2015 British Open Spring Festival in Blackpool, the provisional list of competing bands have been requested by the contest organisers to make full use of the British Open on-line registration system.

Success

Already successfully used at the 2014 British Open in Birmingham, it will ensure that players will not have to bring any form of identification with them to the Blackpool events, with registration details simply crossed checked with the system’s data base.

Benefit

British Open Registrar Colin Johnson told 4BR: “Following the successful implementation and use of the system in Birmingham in September, it shows that the British Open series of contests have a registration system that works for the benefit of both the bands and for the future of the event itself.”

They need to provide a photographic image of the player, plus their date of birth. The secure on-line system all for bands to make necessary changes to personnel 24 hours a day, 365 days a year if they require.

Get in touch

Colin added: “If any band has any problem, they can get in contact and we can help sort things out. The system is very user friendly and takes away a great deal of hassle for hard working contest secretaries.”

Bands are requested to start undertaking undertake the process as soon as possible, but are reminded that if a player competes with a band (Band A) at the British Open, and subsequently competes with another band (Band B) at the following Spring Festival, they are prohibited from competing with the same band (Band A) at the subsequent British Open.
