The Heyl Band is still celebrating following their recent victory at the South West Brass Band Association contest in Torquay.

Their performance of ‘Music for a Festival’ saw them take the Third Section title for a second successive year under the baton of MD Shaun Marsden — and off the number 1 draw.

It was Shaun’s third win with the Cornish band since his appointment as Musical Director 18 months ago, and followed further good news as the band sported their brand new sponsored polo shirts with the rather appropriate name of ‘Sky’s The Limit Scaffolding’ emblazoned on them.

Looking forward

The band is now looking forward to a very busy concert time through Christmas, before they set their sights on Torquay once more and the Regional Championship next March.
