Stretton helps Lofthouse recruitment

The multi talented multi instrumentalist James Stretton has been helping Lofthouse recruit new brass band talent.

During the last week the Lofthouse Band has been hosting a series of events in local schools called ‘Brassed On’, featuring the multi instrumental talents of Jim Stretton.

Shapes and sizes

During the course of the week over 500 children were introduced to brass instruments of varying shapes and sizes thanks to Jim’s amazing presentational skills, as well as the opportunities that can come with playing with the Lofthouse Band organisation.

Amazing

One Head teacher told 4BR: "This is amazing. We have a number of string players in the school but no brass, but this will bring another dimension into our music programme.

We are so grateful to the band and Jim for putting this performance on."

Music cafe

The week will finish on Saturday 22nd November at the band’s innovative Music Cafe, an event that is hoped will see the introduction of a number of new members into Lofthouse Band.
