Blidworth round off season on double high

The Blidworth Welfare has been looking forward to 2015 after rounding off their season with a double success.

Blidworth Band in action

The Blidworth Welfare Band has been celebrating a highly successful end to the 2014 contest season.

National Finals

The year began with two third place finishes at the NEMBBA contest and the Midlands Regional Championship, which saw the band qualify for the National Finals in Cheltenham (above) for the second year running and secure promotion to the Championship Section in 2015.

Following a fine runner-up finish at the Buxton Contest the band worked hard to end in seventh place at Cheltenham in September, before claiming the Bolsover Entertainment title and victory at the Leicester Association contest in Loughborough.

The band is now looking forward to competing in the Championship Section after enjoying what promises to be a very busy Christmas period of concerts and engagementsSpokesperson Sam Turner
