Eikanger Bjorsvik principal cornet player Dave Morton has been presented with the Norwegian national champion’s ‘Role Model of the Year’ accolade at their recent awards evening dinner.

This annual award is voted for by band members and went to the Geneva Instrument artist, who has occupied the principal cornet seat since June 2014.

A spokesperson told 4BR: “Dave has not only impressed fellow members by his wonderful playing, but also by the professional leadership qualities he has brought to the band. He has been an inspiring and motivating leader who has brought out the best in other band members.”
