Besson gives Tameside Whit Friday a huge boost with support for new youth element at Whit Friday.

It has been announced that the Tameside Whit Friday contests have gained welcome financial support from Besson Musical Instruments.

Worldwide

The event, which attracts bands and ensembles to the Tameside venues from all over the world, will take place on Friday 29th May, with eleven contests organised by volunteer committees of the Tameside Friends of Whit Friday.

Through the generous support of Besson, the organisers have been able to announce the launch of a Youth Championships which will run alongside the existing Open and Local Championships.

To be eligible for the Tameside Whit Friday Youth title, competing bands must compete a minimum of six venues.

Thrilled

Brian Hill, Chairperson of Tameside Friends of Whit Friday told 4BR: “We are absolutely thrilled that Besson has agreed to support the Tameside Whit Friday band contests this year.

Their name is synonymous as the benchmark for quality instruments within the world of brass and we thank them for their support and commitment to supporting our Youth Championships.

The Whit Friday contests are a great musical advert for Tameside and provide a fabulous cultural spectacle whether you live in the borough or are just visiting.”
