Warm welcome for Gillingham visitors

There is sure to be a warm welcome waiting for the visitors from Musikzug Viktoria Hille Band to Gillingham Imperial this weekend.

Gillingham Imperial Silver Band will be hosting the Musikzug Viktoria Hille Band from Germany this weekend.

Welcome visit

In 2013 the band made a special visit to Hille in Germany where they celebrated 30 years of exchange visits between the two organisations, and over the years the exchange visits have created great friendships. This year over 40 musicians and friends of the Hille Band will visit Dorset.

Plans

For the upcoming exchange, a weekend of events is planned that includes a welcome evening at Gillingham's band headquarters, a joint concert at Gillingham School, a day trip to Cheddar Gorge and the beautiful city of Wells in Somerset, before rounding things off with a joint concert at Sherborne Castle Country Fair.
