Battle of the Bands draw announced

The draws for the popular Battle of the Bands contest in June have been announced.

The 9th Ireland Colliery Chesterfield and Raw Brewery 'Battle of the Bands' contest will take place on Sunday 14th June, with 16 contenders locking musical horns across four sections in a battle for a claim on the generous prize pots on offer.

Training start

The day will commence with the Training Band Section at 10.00am and will conclude with the joint First/Second Section with the results around 6.30pm. The adjudicators for the day are Martin Heartfield and Michael Fowles.

This year's contest will be held at a new venue and larger site at Parkside Community School, Boythorpe Mount, Chesterfield, Derbyshire S40 2NS.

3. Rotherham Schools Youth Brass Band
4. Leicestershire COOP Training Band
5. Coleshill Youth Brass

Unregistered Section:

1. Carlton Brass Training Band
2. Thurlstone Band

Third / Fourth Section:

1. Pleasley Colliery Welfare Band
2. Oughtibridge Brass Band
3. Rolls Royce Derby Band
4. Deepcar Brass Band
5. Loxley Silver Band

First/Second Section:

1. Dinnington Brass
2. Dronfield Genquip Band
3. Stannington Brass Band
4. Unite the Union Brass Band
