Thoresby benefit from Freemason handshake

Thoresby Colliery Band has been given a generous helping hand from the Freemasons of Bassetlaw in recognition of their fine community work.

A generous donation from local Freemasons will help keep Thoresby Colliery Band looking good in the future.

The Freemasons of Bassetlaw, a charitable arm of the Nottinghamshire Freemasons, presented the band with a cheque of £2,500 at a recent concert as part of an award from a regional fund for local community groups.

Fund member Neil Airey told 4BR: "Thoresby Colliery Band exactly fits our criteria. We are delighted to present this award knowing they will continue to promote the County of Nottinghamshire for many years to come."

Band Chairman, George Kennedy added: "This donation could not have come at a better time. We can now look at a much needed uniform replacement and also a full set of music stands.

Cambrian Brass

Delph Band

May 15 • We are seeking an enthusiastic and musically skilled Associate Conductor to lead and develop our band alongside our current Musical Director Phil Goodwin. . Rehearsals are Mondays and Wednesdays, 8-10pm at Delph Band Club.


Tintwistle Band

May 15 • We have a vacancy for a soprano cornet, and with lots of exciting engagements coming up we would love to get this seat filled!. We rehearse every Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom in Tintwistle, under the baton of our superb MD, Jim Henson.
