Shepway youngsters give it the Disney treatment

The youngsters of the Shepway Brass Academy have been celebrating a great life in the best Disney tradition.

Shepway Brass Academy

Shepway Brass Academy, a children's band based in Folkestone, recently performed a two-hour concert in the local bandstand as part of a special memorial fun day to celebrate the life of Barbara Witham, a well known local businesswoman.

Disney theme

The young players performed a Disney themed programme ranging from 'The Bear Necessities' to the theme from 'Frozen', plus other pieces to the delight of the large and supportive crowd. Also joining in the fun were children dressed in Disney costumes, who danced to the tunes.

Proud

MD Christer Aberg, told 4BR: "Barbara Witham was a good friend and great supporter of Shepway Brass Academy, and we were very proud to have been invited to take part in this wonderful event."

The Shepway Brass Academy has been in existence for two years, where for just £1 per week children aged 8-18 receive tuition and the use of a brass instrument to use and play at home. There are currently three bands within the Academy — Beginners, Training and Intermediate.
