Sale ends for Hughes

The successful partnership between Sale Brass and conductor Josh Hughes has come to an end.

Josh Hughes

Butlins Fourth Section champion Sale Brass has announced that they have parted company with MD Josh Hughes.

Thanks

Band Secretary Rob Greaves, told 4BR: "Josh brought energy, enthusiasm and passion to the role of MD. All of this, along with his natural and enviable musicianship has inspired ambition in the band and helped us develop enormously.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Josh for all of his hard work and acknowledge the musical progress we have made under his stewardship. We are ever grateful and wish him well for the future."

Butlins title

During his short tenure the band not only claimed the Butlins title but gained a podium place on his debut at the Rochdale contest and bagged a clutch of prizes at this year's Whit Friday events.

I'm very grateful to Sale and wish them all the very best. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with them and I believe I leave them in a much stronger position to that when I arrivedJosh Hughes

Couldn't agree

Josh himself added: "Unfortunately we couldn't agree on how the band would go forward.

I'm very grateful to Sale and wish them all the very best. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with them and I believe I leave them in a much stronger position to that when I arrived."
