York adds to tuba strength in depth

York Railway Institute has been busy again with the summer signings as Paul Jones brings a touch of Grenadier depth to their bass team.

York Railway Institute Band continues to be as busy as a premiership football team with its summer signings as they welcome Paul Jones on Bb tuba on a permanent basis.

He will make his return appearance with the band at the forthcoming Dr Martin contest in September.

Distinguished

Paul has enjoyed a distinguished record of service with the Armed Forces as Principal Tuba player with the Grenadier Guards and has previously played with the North of England.

His playing pedigree also includes appearances with the likes of Heart of England, Desford, Flowers, Fairys, Foden's, Jaguar and Brighouse & Rastrick, as well as with professional orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic.
