Flugel star Lucy Cutt has left Brighouse & Rastrick Band.

4BR has been informed that flugel star Lucy Cutt has left Brighouse & Rastrick Band.

Soul searching

Lucy told 4BR: "I've spent a most proud and enjoyable five years with Brighouse & Rastrick, but have had concerns for some time regarding the direction of the band, which eventually, after much soul-searching, I reached the decision I no longer wished to be a part of.

I have an enormous amount of respect for the 'institution' that is Brighouse & Rastrick, and along with my husband Garry, have a lot of friends associated with the band, and I wish them all the best for the future."

Sorely missed

In reply, Brighouse & Rastrick Band Manager Alan Morrison told 4BR: "Lucy is a great loss to us and will be sorely missed. Her flugel playing has always been impeccable but Lucy also gave so much more to the organisation in terms of admin and secretarial support.

She has been totally committed to the purple and gold and it is very sad that she has decided to leave for pastures new. Everyone associated with the band would like to wish her well and thank her for everything she has done for our organisation in her time with us."
