New arrival means new lead at Camborne

Lee Wylde has been appointed the new principal cornet of the Camborne Band.

Camborne

Camborne Town Band has announced the appointment of Lee Wylde as their new principal cornet.

New arrival

Lee initially joined the West of England band which came sixth at the National Finals on solo cornet last year after enjoying a successful time with the St Dennis Band. He takes over from Demelza Sturges who is eagerly expecting a new arrival of her own.

Thanks

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We would like to thank Demelza for her outstanding contribution as principal cornet player over the past couple of years. She has been an important part of our successes and we look forward to seeing her again soon."

Since I knew a replacement was needed, Lee was offered the position which we are delighted he acceptedMusical Director Kevin Mackenzie

Acted quickly

Musical Director Kevin Mackenzie added: "When I heard that Lee was available to join us on front row last year, I acted quickly. His contribution to the cornet section was excellent.

Since I knew a replacement was needed, Lee was offered the position which we are delighted he accepted."
