This half term over 30 young musicians of the Coleshill Youth Brass will travel to Belgium to perform music and share some memorable experiences together.

Wreaths

The highlight of their trip will see the band perform prior to the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate at Ypres, where they will also lay wreaths on behalf of both the band and the town of Coleshill to commemorate the fallen soldiers of the First World War.

Poignant

"The event will be a particularly poignant one for some of our members, as they have relatives who are named on the war memorial at Ypres,"commented Stephen Fagg, MD of Coleshill Town Band.

Flanders Field

They will also be visiting the Flanders Fields museum, where they will learn more about the battlefields of the First World War and will play concerts at various locations close to Bruges, where they will be staying for the four day trip.
