The North East Midlands Brass Band Association has announced the formation of its new youth band.

The North East Midlands Youth Band will hold its first course on Sunday June 26th in Mansfield. It will be led by Foden's MD, Michael Fowles (above), with expert tutor help from Richard Marshall, Stan Lippeatt, Michael Dodd, Brett Baker, Simon Gresswell and Adie Smith.

Three times a year

Director Martin Heartfield told 4BR: "The band will meet three times a year and aims to bring together young brass players, aged 8-18 from the East Midlands area to work and develop their playing under the guidance of some of the finest brass band performers in the world."
