Frosty's get gr-r-r-reat new MD!

Tracey Newlands has been appointed as the new MD of Test Valley's Frosty's Band.

Test Valley Brass has announced the appointment of Tracy Newlands (above) as the new Musical Director of its Frosty's Band.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Tracy brings a wealth of experience as a player in village ensembles right up to Championship Section bands. She has also played French horn and trumpet with various amateur and semi-professional orchestras, as well as her career as an Army musician.

We are looking forward to welcoming Tracy to work with the group."

Beginner band

Frosty's is a beginner band which introduces young musicians to the art of playing in an ensemble before graduating to the main Test Valley Youth Band.

Meanwhile, Tracy added: "This will be my first venture into conducting and I'm delighted to be a part of Frosty's.
