Fribourg appoint MD as new MD

Brass Band Fribourg appoint 27 year old Maurice Donnet-Monay as their new Musical Director.

Four times Swiss National Champion, Brass Band Fribourg, has announced the appointment of Maurice Donnet-Monay as its new Musical Director.

He takes over the role from Frederic Theodoloz, who led the band from 2012, winning the National title in his first year.

Immediate

The 27 year old will take on his new role with immediate effect and will work closely with visiting musical advisor, Dr Robert Childs.

Maurice lives in Fully in the canton of Valais and holds a Master Performance in conducting wind ensembles, orchestras and brass bands. He graduated from Bern University of the Arts, where since 2013, he has studied composition under the guidance of Xavier Dayer.

Experience

In 2014, he won first prize at the prestigious London Classical Soloists Competition & Masterclass and currently conducts Fribourg's A and B Bands, as well as the Orchestral Ensemble Polygon, Brass Band Junior Valaisan and the Belp Orchester.
