Exciting new contest venue for Leicester Open

The Leicester Open in November will be held at an exciting new venue — and you should get your entry in now...

The Leicestershire Brass Band Association has announced details of their forthcoming 'Leicester Open' own-choice contest, which will take place at a brand new venue.

The event will now be held on Sunday 20th November at Loughborough Endowed Schools in Leicestershire, known locally as Loughborough Grammar (above).

Worked hard

Association Chairman Steve Plant told 4BR: "Following the closure of one of the halls in our former venue, the LBBA committee has worked hard to find a new venue that meets the needs of all of our participating bands.

The school has two superb halls as well as excellent catering facilities. We wanted to find a venue that enabled us to respond to the feedback we had about our previous venue, and we are now very excited to be moving to, and working with Loughborough Endowed Schools."

Judges

4BR has been informed that there will be an Unregistered Section and a full pre-draw, so that bands can plan their day. This year's adjudicating panel has been confirmed as Mark Wilkinson, David Roberts, Alan Duguid and David Ashworth.
